Health Check

The Annual Health Check is a preventative inspection and functional assessment carried out by one of our Endoscopy Technicians at your site, at a pre-arranged time to suit your schedule.

The purpose is to give you confidence that your flexible endoscopes are functioning correctly and show no obvious signs of damage or deterioration. Regular preventative inspections help identify minor concerns before they develop into significant and costly repairs, improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and delivering long-term cost savings.

Annual Health Check visits can also identify user-related handling issues, allowing us to offer guidance and training to minimise avoidable damage and improve equipment use across your team.

We provide a written condition report following each visit.

Corrective maintenance

When a flexible endoscope develops a fault, we arrange collection directly from your site and return it to our workshop for assessment. A full condition report is produced upon receipt.

Repairs are categorised as either Minor or Major depending on the nature of the fault. For endoscopes covered under a Fully Comprehensive contract, the repair will be completed and the endoscope sterilised before being returned to you. For endoscopes not covered under a Fully Comprehensive agreement, a quotation will be provided and work will only proceed with your approval.

Where you have an allocated loan pool, you will confirm the serial number of the replacement endoscope being placed into service, maintaining full traceability and minimising downtime from the moment the fault is reported.

Our loan pool commitment

Our loan pool commitment

Customers with a service contract have access to a dedicated loan pool, ring-fenced specifically for their contract. Many providers and OEMs struggle to meet loan pool obligations due to insufficient stock. Istela is committed to investing in and maintaining the right loan inventory for every contract we hold.

Loan units can be held on-site with you or managed centrally from our workshop, with central management generally preferred for better asset control, utilisation, and to free up space.
